Morocco's consumer-protection framework is Law No. 31-08 enacting consumer-protection measures, promulgated by Dahir No. 1-11-03 of 18 February 2011 and published in the Bulletin Officiel No. 5932 on 7 April 2011. It introduced Morocco's first statutory protection against abusive contract clauses (Article 18) and requires products sold to consumers to carry labelling in Arabic (and, where applicable, other languages) covering the product's nature, essential characteristics, country of origin, expiry date, and precautions for use (Article 26). It grants consumers rights to information, a cooling-off period for certain contracts, and redress mechanisms. Morocco's separate product-conformity and technical-standards regime, administered by IMANOR, sits in a distinct instrument — see the Standardisation, Certification and Accreditation Law reference.
