Algeria Standardisation Law — Law No. 04-04 of 2004

Algeria's product-standards and conformity-assessment regime rests on Law No. 04-04 of 23 June 2004 relating to normalisation, amended by Law No. 16-04 of 19 June 2016. Its implementing decrees — Executive Decree No. 05-464 (organisation and functioning of normalisation) and Executive Decree No. 05-465 (conformity assessment), both of 6 December 2005 — set out the operational framework. The Institut Algérien de Normalisation (IANOR), created as a public industrial/commercial establishment by Executive Decree No. 98-69 of 21 February 1998, is the national standards body responsible for developing Algerian standards and conformity marks. This is the standing legal foundation behind Mutabiq's Algeria technical-regulation alerts, including ARPCE's electronic-communications equipment homologation regime for the telecoms vertical.
